It gives me great pleasure to note that ITI for Women Phagwara, which has been in existence for about half a century and has been training only a minuscule number of trainees, has during the last two years, not only substantially improved quality of training through better infrastructure, new equipment, but has also more than trebled its training capacity and has, in addition, introduced short-duration modules under SDI scheme. This has been due to active involvement of all the members of the Institute Management Committee, dedication of staff, support and guidance from the Directorate and professional inputs from the Industry Partner Career Launcher. Plans have been drawn to intensify further the pace of modernization and upgradation of ITI’s infrastructure and offer many more courses especially under SDI during the coming year. I am hopeful of ITI achieving still better success in the time to come.
